Dinning Out

The Mother’s Day was just around the corner last Sunday and I came back to Taipei two weeks ago since I couldn’t celebrate the Mother’s Day at that day. Originally, I wanted to make a surprise for my mom so I didn’t tell her that I would come back; however, my mother is a very busy person, if I did not ask her out in advance, she doesn’t have time to have dinner with me. Fortunately, she had time and we decided to have dinner in the Chamonix Restaurant.

This dinner was meaningful for me. Not only because my mother and I had a big quarrel during the winter vacation, we didn’t talk each other for a long while. I was so glad that my mother made time to have dinner with me but also this was my mother and the uncle to see my boyfriend first time, I was nervous about their first meeting.

Before we arrived the restaurant, we ran into many traffic signal and even got lost, so we were late. But they didn’t angry. After ordering, we talked a lot, and my mother was happy as me that we can become reconciled. Starter dish was abalone and steamed egg custard. I was surprised that the combination so fit and not indisposed at all. Second dish was salad, many kind of fruit in it with a sour but sweet sauce, the fruits and the sauce were very match and tasted good. next dish was seafood soup, this soup had nothing special so let’s skip. The next was main meal, I ordered the duck breast, I thought that the meat’s maturity was very perfect, not too raw or too cooked. During the dinner, we could refill the champagne and fried rice again and again if we want.

Than finishing the main meal, we were taken other seat to taste the dessert and drink, I order the chocolate cake and my mother, putting. We had good time in the Chamonix Restaurant and their waiter and waitress has good service and attitude. I think this time is an unforgettable dinning out memory and I am so happy that can celebrate the mother’s day with my lovely mom although she pay for the dinner final.

My favorite sights

        There are many beautiful scenery hiding in the world, like Great Wall of China, Chichen Itza, Christ the Redeemer and more. However, my favorite sights are beaches, even it is normal and nothing to describe. Before I came to the Hualien, I have never been to the Qixingtan Scenic Area, where the most famous scenic spot of Hualien. I heard that there is a very famous place in Hualien, but I had no chance to go there ever. Until one day, my mother came to Hualien, and her friends took us to the Qixingtan Scenic Area. There was my first time to the Qixingtan Scenic Area, I was vibrated that moment by the beautiful and breathtaking landscape. The sky is so azure and the sea is so clear, I was lucky that I can see it with my own eyes.

And another special experience, I went to Korea by myself, I have a friend who live in the Incheon, he took me to their beach in Korea, and not many people know that place, expect local people. Fortunately, those days was snowing. Local people and my friends told me that we were lucky, because it only snows after Chinese New Year as a rule and this time snowed heavily. When I went to the beach, actually, I had no idea that what name of this beach is it, I cannot believe that what I saw, the sea and the snow are in line, the golden sand become white just like cloud on the ground. Anyway, my favorite sights are beaches, not only it is an amazing present from the nature but also a magical thing that I am in a calm mood when I see the ocean.

But I had to say, every single day when I wake up, the views in the NDHU are my favorite sights, too. I like the blue things very much, so I enjoy the moment that I raise my head to the sky to observe the variation of the sky. Every different time, the sky would be different. When class is boring and I am tired, only look out the windows, and there is sky, I get the energy again.

Qixingtan Scenic Area, we found a place where not many people know, so we don’t need to be jam-packed when we go there in the weekend.

        The Qingshui Cliffs is famous scenic spot in Taiwan. The cliff is located at the southern part of the Suhua Highway that connects the counties of Yilan and Hualien in eastern Taiwan. The site of the Qingshui Cliff was designated in 1953 by the Taiwan government as one of the island's "Eight Wonders." When you want to go to Hualien from Yilan, you will go through the Suhua Highway and see the Qingshui Cliffs, where the tallest peak, Qingshui Mountain, rises 2408 meters directly from the Pacific Ocean. There are many tourists were attracted to the Qingshui Cliffs by its reputation as beautiful, blue sea and magnificent mountain range behind them. However, the Suhua Highway was known as “the dead highway” before, because the highway’s roads are very narrow and no railing there, many people had a car accident and died in there frequently. Therefore, it is always rain in Hualien, so the roads are very damp, there became more dangerous. While the long weekend, the Suhua Highway will become overcrowded since everyone wants to go Hualien or Yilan, seeing the Qingshui Cliffs by the way. So the government will restrict the number of people who want to go through the Suhua Highway during the long weekend. I think that it is a good idea because limiting the size of people who go through the Suhua highway can minimize number of incidents and accidents and protect the nature landscape from artificial destruction. So that we can enjoy the best gift that we can ever receive from the God.

I went to the Shihtiping, where the most beautiful place in Hualian I think before, because my senior brother in the school asked me to go to there if I have time. We went to the Shihtiping by motorcycle and it took our hours to arrive there. The motorcycle bounced along the bumpy mountain road, besides it was rain the day before, so the roads are very damp, our route became more dangerous. In fact, because of the damp roads, I fell of my motorcycle almost when I tried to make a turn. I thought I was lucky because I extended my foot before I fell down in time, so that I didn’t get hurt. As we arrived at the Shihtiping, the brilliant scenery came into view. The ocean and sky are blue, and they fuse together. At that moment, I thought the two hours’ ride was deserved it, no matter what a hard process was it, which we took many time to reach here, where a beautiful place I never seen. If I have time next time, I would come again and again, because seeing the wonderful scenery is never enough.

Road Trip

My dream is going travel alone someday. Without friends and family, I want to learn how to plan my journey well by myself and I can enjoy the time on my own. First, I need to figure out a wonderful place where I want to go. I want to go Hualien, because there is very fit place to me, who want to relax and unwind, without anyone’s disturbance. Hualien, where is the pace of life is extremely slower than big city, like Taipei city. I always feel stressful when I lived in Taipei city, because Taipei city is the capital of Taiwan so that there is the most competitive city in Taiwan, everyone want to be number 1 in there. It makes me feel pressured so I want to get away from Taipei to Hualien. After knowing where I want to go, I need to plan my journey well in advance. I need a car to bring me to everywhere. Next, I reserve hotel accommodation because I don’t want to spend the night in the car, than preparing cloths and everything I need in the trip but hotel doesn’t have. Next I will check out the weather forecast, if it rains, maybe I will cancel the whole plan or postpone the trip some other days. When I was little, my parents always made the plan and showed me around, now I want to plan my trip by myself and I hope that someday I can show my parents around.
